Dennis Egan leads the Real Estate Division of our Business and Banking Group. He brings to our Group years of experience handling complex real estate development projects, financings and transactions in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York – representing individuals, businesses, developers, financial institutions and investors.

The complexities of different business structures and the transactions in which they engage are fascinating to Dennis Egan, a member of our Business and Banking Group. He enjoys all aspects of his practice, from the formation, purchase and sale of a business to structuring complex commercial real estate transactions, and feels most rewarded when taking a complicated legal concept and breaking it down into actionable steps, in order to set his clients up for long-term success.

Dennis’s background in securities law and compliance and his work with hedge funds, real estate developers, and investors gives him a unique perspective on business and financing law—as well as expertise in commercial real estate and zoning, and permitting matters. He now represents a wide variety of clients, from real estate developers, business owners, lending institutions and physician practice groups to entrepreneurs and nonprofits – both large and small.

While Dennis has extensive experience in all types of business, real estate and financing transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate development, corporate governance, institutional and equity financing, and business succession, he firmly believes in taking the law—but not himself—seriously.  And because he knows that the transactions he works on are some of the most important parts of his clients’ business and personal lives, he values his clients’ input and collaboration, and he prides himself on always being available  to answer questions and offer advice on business law and other matters.

Dennis is a strong believer in giving back to the community that has given so much to him and his family.  He is involved in a variety of community causes and activities, including coaching his son’s baseball team and volunteer work with his church. He is the former Chairman (and current member) of the Berkshire Leadership Program Steering Committee, a member of Berkshire Initiative for Growth Steering Committee, serves on the Pittsfield High School Finance Academy Advisory Board, and is on the board of directors of the Edward J. Madden Open Hearts Camp – a non-profit residential summer camp for children who have undergone and recovered from open heart surgery or a heart transplant.

Dennis enjoys playing golf, fishing and taking advantage of the many cultural and recreational opportunities in the Berkshires with his family.
